The District Council of Loxton Waikerie has announced the 2020 Waikerie and Loxton winners of the Australia Day Awards.

Mayor Leon Stasinowsky has great pleasure in announcing the Citizen of the Year awards for both Loxton and Waikerie and Event of the Year award.

Loxton Citizen of the Year - David Kimber

David is one of those community members that would rather get in and get the job done. He is always looking at opportunities to improve the appearance and functionality of his town with a genuine attempt to leave his community in a better place.

The Loxton Citizen of the Year award will be publicly recognised at the Loxton Australia Day Breakfast on Tuesday 26 January 2021 at the Loxton Oval.

Waikerie Citizen of the Year - Karen Richardson

Karen is a hands-on person, a great ambassador for Waikerie who resonates a positive and generous attitude. She is willing to do any job thrown at her without a complaint – this kind of attitude makes us proud to have Karen living and volunteering in Waikerie.

Community Event of the Year - Waikerie Christmas Tree Trail

Congratulations to the Waikerie Christmas Decorating Working Group on extending and providing a comprehensive display of festive items that unites the community, we hope the trail will continue for many years to come.

The Waikerie award winners will be publicly recognised for their achievements at the Waikerie Australia Day Extravaganza commencing at 7.30am on Saturday 23 January 2021.
