Disability Access and Inclusion Plan Survey
The District Council of Loxton Waikerie is committed to providing a community that is accessible and inclusive for everyone through Disability Access and Inclusion Planning. People with disability should be a able to access and participate in all aspects of our society so that they can enjoy the rights and opportunities provided to all citizens.
Council is currently developing its inaugural Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP). The Plan aims to continue to support and work towards creating a more accessible and inclusive organisation and community.
Developing the Plan
Council undertook a survey to gain community feedback on how accessible and inclusive our current services and facilities are. The survey collected 142 responses, with various participants including:
The draft Plan was developed based of the feedback gained from the survey responses, along with input from an internal Project Control Group with staff from various areas of Council.
What happens next?
The draft Plan will be tabled at the September Council meeting, if endorsed, the draft Plan will be provided to the community for public consultation.
Your feedback on the draft Plan will help Council define the direction and actions of the Plan, before being tabled at the October Council meeting for final endorsement.
