Loxton Recreation Complex mezzanine works tender awarded to local building company
Works on the Loxton Recreation Complex mezzanine fit-out began this week, with the project tender awarded to local company Michael Kregar Building Pty Ltd.
District Council of Loxton Waikerie Deputy Mayor Trevor Norton said the $1.3 million project will be completed using mostly local trades.
“By using local businesses and suppliers where possible, the mezzanine fit-out will be a great boost to the local and regional economy,” said Mr Norton.
“The project will consist of fitting out the mezzanine level of the Loxton Recreation Complex to include a commercial-grade kitchen with storage and cool room spaces, bar and dining area.
“Once finished, the 300-person capacity mezzanine will be available to hire for various private, corporate or community functions.
“This will compliment an already outstanding building complex for the town of Loxton and the broader community.’
Mr Norton said Council was pleased to be working with a local company on the project.
“Michael Kregar Building Pty Ltd have demonstrated that they have the expertise, experience and capacity to deliver the project for the community, having recently undertaken similar projects such as the Loxton Hotel redevelopment,” Mr Norton said.
“The mezzanine fit-out has been designed to match similar scale and materials which complement the existing Recreation Complex building’s interior.”
The state-of-the-art Loxton Recreation Complex was completed in February this year.
The mezzanine is situated on the first level of the complex overlooking the main oval and the indoor courts. The fit-out is the final step in completing the multi-use facility.
Works are expected to be completed by the end of the year.
