Dog & Cat Registrations
The South Australian Dog and Cat Management Board, in partnership with councils, has simplified the way your dog and cat registration and microchip details are managed. Dogs and Cats Online (DACO) is the central online system for managing your pet's information, including microchip details, registration and payments.

You can attend any of the below locations during business hours to register your pet.
Loxton Office
35 Bookpurnong Terrace, Loxton
Waikerie Office
Strangman Road, Waikerie
Please note if you are completing a brand new registration you will need to ensure you have all required documentation with you.
Renewal notices are posted out from 1 July, with information on how to pay and update your details on the DACO online system.
Dog registrations must be renewed by 31 August each year.
All dogs are now issued with a permanent registration number that remains with the animal regardless of a change of Council areas or transfer of ownership.
If your dog registration disc has been lost or damaged you can request a replacement disc on Dogs and Cats Online.
You must register your cat in Dogs and Cats Online by its microchip number. Unlike dogs, cats do not get issued a registration number and there is no fee associated. We recommend keeping all information up to date in DACO to ensure that if your cat goes missing, and is then found and scanned by council, vets, or an animal shelter, we can reunite you quickly.
It is also important to transfer your cat’s registration in DACO if your cat goes to a new owner. For instructions on how to register or transfer your cat in DACO please view the registering cats page.
