Council Launches New Online Arts and Culture Platform
Officially going live on Wednesday 20 August 2025, the site brings together the people, places and projects that make the district’s cultural life unique.
The platform offers:
- Artist Directory – profiles of local creatives with links to artworks, profiles and insights into their creative practice.
- Venues and Spaces – an easy-to-use guide to council-operated and community-led spaces available for exhibitions, performances, rehearsals and workshops, including locations, features and booking details.
- Events Calendar – a regularly updated list of local arts events, workshops and community activations across the district.
- Opportunities – information on funding, development programs, collaborations and festival participation for creatives.
- Latest Projects – launching with a showcase of Loxton’s pocket galleries including artist details and images of each mini-exhibition.
Developed in line with the Council’s Arts and Culture Strategic Plan, the project recognises the vital role of creative activity in fostering community resilience, diversity and long-term cultural sustainability.
“The new platform will help strengthen connections between artists, audiences and the wider community. We have an incredibly diverse and talented creative community in the Loxton Waikerie district. We’re looking forward to making it easier than ever for people to discover local talent, find events, and see the many ways the arts and culture enrich our region.”
- Mayor Trevor Norton
“Exhibiting: Loxton Waikerie was designed to be a living, evolving resource. We wanted to create something that not only celebrates our current arts and culture scene, but also provides opportunities for growth, collaboration and participation. It’s a space for everyone – artists, audiences, and anyone curious about what’s happening creatively in the district.”
- DCLW Arts and Culture Officer, Simone Stretton
Community members can access Exhibiting: Loxton Waikerie from Wednesday 20 August 2025, via www.exhibitingloxtonwaikerie.com.
