River Fringe Returns to the Riverland in 2024!

The District Council of Loxton Waikerie and Country Arts SA are pleased to announce the return of the Fringe Festival to the Riverland from 16 February – 16 March 2024, with an impressive program featuring local and visiting talent!

Unforgettable Performances at The Loxton Club:

  • Michelle Pearson returns with her sensational new show "Mixed Tape", accompanied by a six-piece band, playing classics from iconic artists like Midnight Oil, The Divinyls, INXS, Tina Arena, Cold Chisel, and more during a journey through Australia’s rich musical history.
  • The Club will also host “Dinner with the Stars", a cabaret featuring a glittering night of music and culinary delights. The Pulse Band takes the stage, promising an unforgettable evening with hits from Elvis, Tina Turner, Neil Diamond, and more.

Waikerie Extravaganza:

  • The Waikerie Institute Hall transforms into a haven of 60s and 70s music with "The Sensationals" headlining the River Fringe opening party, curated by Susan and Peter Santella. Don't miss the chance to dance the night away!
  • Cool 4 Kids, Tony Genovese, brings his vibrant and innovative themed music concert for children aged one to twelve, promising an engaging and delightful free experience.
  • At the Waikerie Bowling Club, Deborah Caddy presents "Glamour & Song," a captivating cabaret show celebrating the music and relationships of Olivia Newton-John and Pat Carroll. Immerse yourself in the joyous celebration of love and enduring friendship through iconic hits.
  • Join River Gum cruises aboard 'Qatar' for a serene Murray River cruise in Waikerie and an Art Workshop with artist Susie Skujins. Participate in a "Cliff Painting Workshop" using pallet knife techniques, suitable for all skill levels, as you absorb the beauty of the Murray River.

Family Friendly Events:

  • River Fringe introduces two exciting additions this year – Moorook Fair Day and the Loxton Historical Village Family Fun Day.
  • Revel in the festivities at the Loxton Mardi Gras Family Festival and the Waikerie Rotary Markets, both returning favourites.
  • Fit to Fly Circus returns with a whimsical Mad Hatter's theme, featuring spinning plates, flying cats, and somersaulting Alice at two events.

Artistic Extravaganza:

  • Loxton's River Fringe Festival opens with a visual arts exhibition at the Business Hub, showcasing the talents of Lyn Anstey and Jarrod Loxton. ART by Kezz invites participants of all ages to three mandala workshops, and popular artist Lyn Anstey will host her renowned Paint n Sip classes.
  • In Waikerie, Susie Skujins leads a unique workshop, painting pelicans on apricot trays, at the Rain Moth Gallery.

Musical Bliss:

  • Local musicians take centre stage with The Red Dirt Band rocking Moorook, Harrison Lowe serenading The Pines in Loxton for a Saturday afternoon tea, and The Chasers entertaining the Waikerie Rotary Markets.

Yabby Races:

  • Join the Cadell Club for the ever-popular Yabby Races, a unique event featuring crustacean racing, a variety of food, live music, and entertainment for all.

River Fringe invites friends and families to partake in an extraordinary fusion of local and visiting creative talents, breaking down cultural barriers to create lasting memories and unforgettable experiences.
