Council invites community to help shape the 2026–27 Annual Business Plan and Budget

Published 13th January 2026
Council is inviting residents, businesses and community groups to have their say on the future direction and priorities of the district, as community engagement begins for the 2026-27 Annual Business Plan and Budget.

In a commitment to open, accountable, and responsible decision making, Council will be launching two feedback activities on its online engagement platform, Shaping Loxton Waikerie. From Monday, community members will be able to provide their input on a range of Council services and activities, and pitch new project ideas for budget consideration.

Feedback gathered during this initial phase of engagement will help inform internal planning, including budget workshops involving Elected Members and staff.

“This early engagement is an important opportunity for our community to share what they value most and where they would like Council to focus its efforts in the coming years.

In previous years, community feedback has been actively incorporated into budgets and continues to guide planned projects such as Swimming Pool, Waikerie Institute and Sporting Stadium, and Paisley Boat Ramp upgrades. By engaging early, we can better understand local priorities and consider new project ideas before the draft budget is developed.

Our approach is designed to make it easy for people to get involved. Whether that’s sharing big-picture priorities, suggesting new ideas, or having a say on proposed projects, every piece of feedback helps inform decisions that reflect the needs and aspirations of our community”.

Feedback opens Monday 12 January 2026 and concludes 5pm Sunday 8 February 2026.

Community members are encouraged to take part and help shape Council’s 2026-27 financial year.

Further opportunities to provide feedback will be available during the formal public consultation of the Draft Annual Business Plan and Budget following their development.
