Season of Creativity Launches for Riverlanders over 55
Delivered by the District Council of Loxton Waikerie and funded through Office for Ageing Well’s 2025-2026 Age Friendly SA grant program, Season of Creativity will offer 13 different workshop styles across multiple sessions, all provided free of charge to participants and hosted at the Loxton Retirement Village Community Centre.
The program has been designed to encourage Riverlanders to discover new hobbies, build creative skills and enjoy meaningful social experiences in a welcoming and supportive environment. Activities will range from hands-on workshops to engaging cultural experiences, all aimed at promoting self-expression, lifelong learning and stronger community connection.
The program will conclude with the Season of Creativity Showcase during South Australia’s Week of Ageing Well, where participants will have the opportunity to proudly display and perform the skills developed throughout the program. Family, friends and community members are invited to attend the showcase, which will also include information from local services and opportunities to view the facilities at the Loxton Retirement Village Community Centre.
“Season of Creativity is about creating opportunities for people to come together, learn new skills and enjoy positive social experiences. We know creativity plays an important role in wellbeing and connection, and this program will help foster a stronger and more inclusive community where people can continue to thrive at every age."
- Mayor Trevor Norton

“The Loxton Retirement Village is proud to host the Season of Creativity program within our Community Centre and welcome not only our residents, but the broader Riverland community to take part. Creating opportunities for people to come together, try something new and build social connections is incredibly important, and we’re excited to see the Community Centre become a vibrant space for creativity, learning and inclusion throughout the program.”
